EPBC referral update

In accordance with section 95B(2) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), ARRC Organics Pty Ltd is publishing the updated Preliminary Documentation in relation to the referral – EPBC 2024/09778 – for the Advanced Resource Recovery Centre (ARRC), Stapylton, Queensland (the proposed action). The proposed action is located in Stapylton, Queensland and the person intending to undertake the action is ARRC Organics Pty Ltd. The documentation has been updated following a publication period and receipt of submissions.

The matters protected under provisions of Part 3 of the EPBC Act include:

· Listed threatened species under section 18 – Koala, Grey-headed Flying-fox, and South-eastern Glossy Black-cockatoo

· Threatened ecological communities under section 18A – Coastal Swamp Sclerophyll Forest of New South Wales and South East Queensland, and Subtropical Eucalypt Floodplain Forest and Woodland of the New South Wales north coast and South East Queensland bioregions.

ARRC thanks all respondents for their submissions. Responses to submissions along with the updated Preliminary Documentation can be viewed from Tuesday 18 August until Monday 31 August , without charge:

  • by request via the Queensland Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation in Brisbane
  • by request via the National Environmental Protection Agency in Canberra
